“A project born of necessity.” These are the words spoken by Saint Louis artist Cbabi Bayoc as he described his feverish need to create a positive and consequential narrative centered on celebrating Black fathers. A father of three children, Bayoc embarked on a singular journey to paint a portrait every single day of 2012, depicting Black fathers and their children. His project, 365 Days with Dad, stands as a counter to the lack of positive images of Black fathers found in media.

My Father Lives Here is an intimate portrait of Bayoc, his family life, and his fatherhood painting series.
