“A project born of necessity.” These are the words spoken by Saint Louis artist Cbabi Bayoc to describe his feverish need to create a positive and personal narrative regarding black men as fathers. A father of three children, Bayoc embarked on a journey to paint a portrait every single day of 2012, depicting black fathers and their children. His project, 365 Days with Dad, stands as a collection of vibrant images celebrating black fathers.

My Father Lives Here is an intimate portrait of Bayoc, his family life, and his ambitious fatherhood painting series.
